She was born in Houston, Texas on September 26, 1941. Kathy graduated from Incarnate Word High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Sam Houston State Teachers College.
She was married to Ret Colonel and former Grimes County Judge Colonel Larry Snook on August 4, 1963.
Kathy Snook had a career as teacher for Iola Independent School District where she cared very much for the education and success of her students. She taught English, Fine Art and Theater Arts. She was a member of the Officers Wives Club and volunteered with many projects including the OWC Thrift Store. She was an incredible artist and pursued that passion her entire life creating beautiful watercolor paintings, pottery, stained glass, etchings, batik and sketches.
She is survived by her husband Larry Snook, children Kelly Snook, Dave Snook and wife Sarah Snook, and Gary Snook and wife Ellen Snook, grandchildren Nicholas Boles, Michael Snook, Lauren Snook, Sadie Snook and Ben Snook, great grandson Kaleb Boles, brother Paul Viel and sister Elaine Viel and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Mary will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
