Mary John "Johnnie" Lee

Mary John “Johnnie” Lee, 84, passed away peacefully on January 19th, 2015 at The Atria-Westchase in Houston, Texas. She was born in Cookeville, Tennessee and attended Tennessee Tech College. She moved to Houston, Texas and worked at Lummus Corporation prior to her marriage. She was an active member of the Texas Federation of Republican Women. She was a member of Memorial Drive Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Her joys in life were spending time with her family, friends and of course her little Pug dog, Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benton Jennings Lee and Mentie Emma Randolph Lee.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen and husband Randy Burkham, Stephanie and husband Gary Stanford; sons, Steven Lane Chenault and life partner Kristine Scott, Michael Lee Chenault and wife Luna Chenault, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Mary's Life will take place on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77079. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be mailed to The Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Houston SPCA), 900 Portway Drive, Houston, TX 77024.
