Mary was a native Houstonian, born on the 8th of June 1984, the fourth child of Nancy and Dick Harmon. Mary graduated from St. Agnes Academy and The University of Colorado at Boulder.
Mary loved all things political. She helped manage political campaigns during her career. She worked for Houston City Councilman Oliver Pennington for six years and considered him a mentor to her.
Preceding Mary in death was her beloved father, Dick Harmon in 2006. Surviving Mary are her mother, Nancy Harmon; her sister, Heidi Harmon Potter and her husband Patrick; her brothers, Rick Harmon and his wife Georgia, and Chris Harmon and his wife Blair; and her nieces and nephews, Lucie Potter, Molly Potter, Michael Potter, McKee Harmon, Keely Harmon and Richard Harmon III.
Services for Mary will be private.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in her name be directed to the Harmon Recovery Foundation at 49-500 Marne Court, La Quinta, CA 92253 (or at http://harmonrecoveryfoundation.com/). The Harmon Recovery Foundation was created to promote and support healthy, responsible and individualized treatment for drug and alcohol dependency by providing resources to programs responsive to family and community needs.
