Mary “Chouette” Dugas was a one of a kind woman, who wore her heart on her sleeve. Meeting her, was like meeting a member of the family as she always made you feel welcome. She loved to laugh and joke with her family. She loved to spend time with her family, from the first cousin to the play cousin, everyone was family.
Mary passed away on September 16, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born on August 21, 1939 to Mary Pete & Joseph Dugas in Lafayette, LA. In 1946, the family moved to Houston, TX, where she worked as a bus driver then as a mail clerk for Brown and Root, where she retired from after 20 years of service. She is predeceased by her parents, sister, Laura “Mae Mae” Giles and brother, Lawrence “Sonny Boy” Dugas.
Mary is survived by her sister, Bernadette “Bay Bay” Conway, daughters: Carolyn Perkins (Alvin Perkins), Henrietta Mallett, and Gwendolyn Mallett. She has sixteen grandkids and twenty-one great grandchildren.
