Mary Ellen Cashman Dilley, 67, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a talented, actively involved and caring person. Mary Ellen was always there for someone in need. She enjoyed her work and the happiness it gave to others. She touched so many lives and brought love, joy and comfort to so many people.
Mary Ellen was born on Sunday, May 13, 1945, in Houston. She graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in 1963 and Lydia of Houston Beauty School in 1964. She worked for many years as a beautician, showcasing her talents at Neiman Marcus, Sakowitz and Foley’s. She also successfully ran her own business “Hair by M.E.” for many years.
Mary Ellen leaves behind her loving family: husband, “Buddy” Herbert Dilley; mother, Katherine Miller Cashman; sisters, Margaret, Christina, Virginia; brothers-in-law, David and Damian; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Monica, Erin, Matthew, Kennedy, Presley, Kaitlin, Eileen, Emily, Joseph and Charles. Her son Lee Christopher preceded her in death.
Family and friends will gather at a memorial service to celebrate this wonderful woman's life on Sunday, November 18th at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston. Reverend Michael Van Cleve will officiate.
