Marquis accepted Christ and was baptized in 1994 at Belfort Church of Christ under the direction of Pastor James Glen.
Marquis attended public school in Houston, Texas, earning his High School diploma from Westbury High School in 1995. Marquis had a love for football and joined the football team at Westbury High School. He was a member of the Westbury High School graduating class of 1995. Upon graduation from High School, he enrolled at the HBCU school of his choice, which was Prairie View A & M University, and became a proud Prairie View Panther.
Marquis was later employed by several companies with Berry Brothers Industrial as his last employer, where his health began to fail, and he became physically disable.
Marquis was a jokester and was always the life of the party. He was always told that he missed his calling as he should have been a comedian. All the children loved him, and he was a mentor to his nephews Trevion and Aron Jr. He loved both sets of grandparents dearly and was always ready for a trip to East Texas to visit Big Mama.
Marquis departed this life on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Memorial Herman Hospital Northwest, Houston Texas. He was proceeded in death by his parents Barbara Fields Greer and Ross Edwards Jr., Grandparents Carnell and Marie Fields and Ross Edwards Sr. and Mary Edwards, Sister Kirsten Tarver, niece Christian Greer, and other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Marquis leaves to forever cherish his memories a loving Bonus Mother Karen Edwards, brother, Marcus Greer, sisters Monica Greer and Nikki Glasper, nephews Trevion Spencer, and Aaron Roy Jr., Nieces Day and Zoe Greer and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
