Dear Paul & Travis, Sometimes words  are never enough but we are truly sorry  for your loss.                                                                                                                  We  didnt know Marlene as much as we would have liked, the thousands of miles in between us made it more difficult to see each other, when we did it was for a family occasion and they normally have lots of people there.                                                                                                                                                                There are two occasions that stick out the most for me the first one being,    Travis graduation, we was lucky enough to have shared that precious moment with you both  we could see how proud (and rightly so ) of your sons achievements. The second our daughters  wedding the night before we went out for a meal and yes it was a carvery not an Indian just like Marlene had requested.                                                                                                                                   Marlene was a strong women but i know she made my brother Paul happy and for that i will be eternally grateful.                                                    R.I.P. Marlene. x

I first met Marlene on Boxing Day ‘94 when she, Paul & Travis kindly allowed myself, my then boyfriend & his Mum to stay for 3 weeks. My first visit to Texas, a trip I’ll never forget.

3 years later, my boyfriend became my husband & Marlene my Sister-in-Law.  Paul, Marlene & Travis travelled all the way to the UK to share our day with us, we’ll always be grateful they came.

Sadly, living so far away limited how often we could meet but when we did, fond memories were always made.  In more recent years we shared a wonderful week together in League City (2016) when our son Adam first got to meet his Auntie Marlene. They hit it off immediately & it was wonderful to witness the bond they made. 

We were fortunate to spend another week together in 2019 when Marlene, Paul, Travis & Kelly visited the UK for a family wedding.  We enjoyed several meals & other outings together. We spoke about the possibility of us flying out to Texas the following Summer but sadly the world suddenly became a different place & we were all prevented from travelling. 

We were so sad to hear of Marlene’s illness. At times like this, the miles between yourself & loved ones make things all the harder.  We know she was a strong lady & fought as hard as she could. It’s very hard for us to comprehend what has happened.  Our hearts are breaking. We are devastated.

Marlene was an extremely kind, caring & generous lady.  She was selfless & did everything for her family, as well as others. She would love to surprise & treat you. Adam will forever cherish ‘Pelican’ the plushie that Auntie Marlene secretly bought him during a trip to Galveston. She would always send us beautiful cards & packages at Christmas. She was extremely thoughtful. Her sense of humour was wonderful. I remember her pretending she was going to buy some tacos whilst in the UK because they were ‘hard to get at home’ … & I believed her! 

Above all, Marlene was our trusted friend. We shall miss her very much indeed.

Im still lost for words but there are several things come to mind when someone mentions Mrs. Green. (Marlene).  Every time I would see her I knew one of two things were going to happen. 
1. I would laugh until I cry.

Or

2. I would learn something I never knew or even thought about. 

Her smile, knowledge, and wisdom was contagious.  Her love for her family,  friends, and  strangers,  along with her passion and enthusiasm for the Order of the Eastern Star was one we should all learn from. 

What a delight it was and is to have memories of such a Strong, 
Thoughtful,  Loving , Beautiful, Woman.
 
Paul thank you for allowing her the opportunity to share her amazing love and happiness with others.  If it wasn't for Masonry these great memories i would not have. Until we meet again Marlene, rest easy and keep an eye on use. 
Paul, Dr.Travis, family and friends I pray for your peace, comfort, and understanding. With deepest gratitude, sympathy and love we will all meet again.

I met Marlene when we attended the  University of Houston many years ago; we became fast friends as we both were born in Honduras and  shared a close friendship while we were young…after she married distance contributed to lose contact!
I just happened to have a dream about her late this morning and I said I’ll look her up but couldn’t remember her husband last name…so I google up her name and I found her obituary. She was a woman of hard moral core, intelligent, sincere and always gracious as her sweet smile tells it all!
Rest In Peace my dear Marlene…

My thoughts and prayers are with Paul and Travis.. I just found a letter a couple days ago which Marlene wrote for my mom in Japanese and was thinking about her. Marlene was the one I spent most of my time in the states with and who took care of me and taught me everything when I was a super spoiled 15-year-old kid who knows nothing about anything. She was the person full of love. I really appreciate her so so so much. I miss you, Marlene.

Paul, Tanya and I have you and Travis in our thoughts and prayers. We loved Marlene so very much. I had fun aggravating her and she acting indifferent and after all was said and done, she would join me in a laugh. Paul, Marlene is still with us, not physically, but in spirit/memories. Tanya and I will alway have her in our memories...... her spirit lives.

Marlene had the most amazing smile!  I remember she could make you feel that she had waited just for you to come to an event — and was so pleased she was able to see you.  A very loving and giving person.   She will be missed by all who came into her world.

I am so sorry to learn of Marlene’s passing. We were close when we both worked at Shell, I even went with her to select her china pattern. I sang at her and Paul’s wedding. We lost touch when I was transferred to Chicago, but the fond memories remain. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. I am praying for Paul and their son, as well as all of her family, especially her sister.
