She was born on March 29, 1927 in Mystic, lowa where she grew up on a dairy farm. She received her teaching credentials from lowa Wesleyan in 1947, her Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in 1952 and her Masters of Education from Prairie View A & M in 1979. Marj worked as a teacher in lowa and Texas. She then became a supervisor in Houston Independent School District and remained with the district for 56 years.
She was actively involved in the Catholic church, numerous Bridge clubs and world wide travel.
She is preceded in death by her good natured husband Stan and eldest child Kirby.
She is survived by daughters Bonnie Balch and husband Hez, Barbie Walden and husband Lewis Sr., and
Daughter in law Robbie Jusola as well as her loving grand children Eric and Jenn Balch, Jenny and Andres Lopez, Katie and Mason Gaytan, Lewis Walden Jr., Tristan Jusola-Sanders and Gaia Jusola- Sanders., She was known as Great Nana to Catalina and Clint Lopez.
The family would like to thank the compassionate and dedicated caregivers of Morada Cy Fair for the care and dedication they showed Marj.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Forest Park Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer
Road Houston ,TX 77077 on Sunday, November 24th at 2:00 pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00
pm. Interment will be private.

American Lung Association.
