Maria (Angelita) Ruiz joined her husband, Pedro Ruiz, in God’s kingdom on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. She was 88 years old. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, Tita to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was married for 63 blessed years to Pedro, and they created a beautiful life together filled with many joyous memories.
Angelita had a spirit filled with joy, peace, grace and love. She loved her many roles, such as mother, caretaker, and mentor, that she played in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing Loteria, watching Spanish language TV novelas, shopping, gardening, camping, and baking her famous sweet tortillas, empanadas, and tamales. Additionally, she was a big sports fan. Her time might be spent watching many types of sports such as baseball (she loved the Astros), football, soccer, and even WWE wrestling. Together with Pedro, they will be watching the Astros from the best seats in the house.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Son Pedro (Dilia), daughters’ Maria (Jay), Blanca (Mike), Ana (Cesar), and Nena (Paul). Her grandchildren and their spouses: Gustavo, Cristina, Michael, Selvin (Dulce), Sebastian, Pete (Genesis), Gabriela (Tristian), Matt, Monica (Tadd), Erik, Sofia, and Danny. Her great grandchildren: Mia, Eli, Luca and our littlest blessing Madison. Maria is also survived by her siblings, Graciela Cantu, Prisciliano Cantu, Adelfa Welsh, Homero Cantu, and Guillermina Cantu.
Angelita and Pedro are together with our heavenly Father. Although it is difficult to say goodbye, we will always carry their memory and lessons in our hearts and our actions. May she rest in peace.
Proverbs 31:25-29:
“She is clothed with strength and dignity:
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
