Maria G. Monroy

Maria G. Monroy, 64, passed away on June 2, 2014 in Houston, Texas surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Maria was born in Tampico, Mexico on August 13, 1949 to Vicente Carcia Camporedondo and Celestina Suarez. She grew up in Mexico and married and immigrated to Texas in 1971.

Maria was a loving and nurturing family woman, loyal friend and dedicated Christian. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, spouse, mother, aunt, grandmother and child of God.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Pedro M. Monroy, daughters, Teresa M. Orta and her husband Rick, Maria M. Coglianese and her husband Michael, Cecilia M. Monroy, and son, Pedro G. Monroy and his wife Lori. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Joshua Monroy, Amanda Coglianese, Gabriel Orta, Jordan Coglianese, Skylynn Monroy, Seth Monroy, Victoria Orta and Celest Monroy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7010 Chetwood Dr. Houston, Texas 77081 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Advantage Funeral Home. Interment will follow ar Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd. Houston, Texas 77077.
