Maria Luisa Garza

Maria Luisa Garza (known by family and loved ones as Mary) was born to Bertha and Benito Caballero on June 26, 1966 in Dinuba, California. She has two sisters and one brother, Susana Alvarez, Leticia Lazo, and Marcos Caballero.

On November 24, 1984, Maria and Armando Garza married and shared 32 years of life together. They raised four exemplary children, Armando Jr., Mayra, Alex, and Arturo Garza. Together they made Channelview, Texas their home.

Mary was her children’s biggest supporter and mentor. She provided guidance and instilled strong moral values. She was her boys’ number one baseball fan and her daughter’s biggest inspiration and best friend. Throughout her life’s highs and lows her faith was always her foundation. A woman of faith and the heart of the Garza family, Mary shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example.

She was a kind and wonderful grandmother to Nathan Garza and Selene Davis. They both enjoyed her time and presence and looked forward to spending time with her. The joy of her grandchildren added to her happiness and the years that followed.

Mary is survived by: her loving husband, Armando Garza; son/daughter-in-law Armando Jr. Garza and Leticia Garza; daughter/son-in-law, Mayra Davis and Jason Davis; sons Alex Garza and Arturo Garza; her grandchildren, Nathan Garza and Selene Davis; her parents, Bertha and Benito Caballero; her lovely siblings, Susana Alvarez, Leticia Lazo and Marcos Caballero.
