Maria Elsa Flores

Elsa was passionate about her devotion to Our Lord Jesus Christ and our Blessed Mother, and her life was anchored in faith, hope and charity. Elsa loved her family dearly and committed her life to them. She constantly helped others and spent many years assisting those in need and serving the church through its ministries and as secretary for the St. Joseph Parish Office. Elsa was dedicated to teaching, volunteering, and participating in parish life.

Elsa was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Geronimo “Jerry” Flores. She is survived by Olivia Herring and husband Marc, Jerry Flores and wife Barbara, Sandy Hernandez, Becky Morrison and husband Rod, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother Robert, sisters Beatrice, Irma and Vera and numerous step-children, nieces and nephews.

Elsa is also survived by many friends and others who were touched by her. The Flores family also acknowledges Elsa’s caregivers whose kindness is greatly appreciated.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Vigil at 7:00 PM in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1505 Kane Street, Houston, Texas 77007. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
