Margie N. Miller, 81, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. She was born on September 20, 1928 in Laurel, Mississippi; she was the second child born to Simon and Mary Tolar. Margie was preceded in death by her parents and husband Oliver James Miller.
Shortly after graduating from high school she married her high school sweetheart Oliver Miller. Following his discharge (April 14, 1946) from the Navy at the end of World War II, they made their home in Houston, Texas in 1952.
She was an active member of West University Baptist Church and Braeburn Valley Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a true friend to many, Margie is leaving us with many wonderful memories to cherish forever.
She is survived by her three daughter, Rebecca, Mary and Karen; 6 grandchildren, Kevin, Robert, Trey, Katie, Adam and Bailey and great-grandchild, Mia; 3 sons-in-law, Michael, Gus and Marcus, as well a host of other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 8th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9th, at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with interment following in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers are: Michael Freeman, Gus Steinmann, Marcus Gonzales, Kevin Michael, Robert Michael and Trey Steinmann; also serving as honorary pallbearer, Dillion Santorri.
In lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations may be made in her memory to The Houston Hospice and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International.
