Luz G. Perez

Luz married Margarito M. Perez on April 28, 1951. They lived in Houston, Texas and together raised 8 children.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jesusa P. Zuniga, Maria G. Martinez, Margarita Valdez (Ignacio), daughter-in-law Vera G. Perez, Joe G. Perez (Aurora), Johnny G. Perez, Linda Rodriguez (Rudy) and Janie Robles; 19 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind various nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benigno and Jesusa Garcia; her loving husband of 55 years, Margarito M. Perez; daughter, Martha Perez; son, Luciano Perez; 2 son-in-laws, Robert A. Martinez and Benito Zuniga, and 8 brothers and sisters.

She was an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church for over 65 years and involved with Altar Society, Catholic Daughter's and VFW.

She had several hobbies, being a homemaker, cooking, sewing, traveling, playing Bingo on Friday nights with family and going to Casinos. Her family tradition was gathering her children, grandchildren, and great great grandchildren to make tamales and tell her stories about her growing up and cotton picking.

In remembrance of our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother from her children. Always in our hearts, gone but never forgotten.

A visitation for Luz will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5 PM to 9 PM with a rosary at 7 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Ave Houston, TX 77023. A final viewing will occur Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10:15 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church, 915 Zoe St. Houston, TX with the Funeral Mass set to begin at 11 AM. Father Oscar Dubon will officiate the ceremony. Her final resting place will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
