Lucy Arevalo

Lucinda Arevalo, age 71, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Lucinda was born in Houston, Texas. She grew up in an area west of Houston known as west end. Where after graduating high school, continued to live in the area to raise three sons. Jose(Joey), Isaias and Isaac. All while living close to her mother Amada(Emma), father Macario and grandmother Calletana.

Lucy had then begun her career at Houston Community College where she worked 30+ years and where she retired from. But before retiring, she moved into a home in Spring Branch. Where she spent her final years enjoying life. If she wasn't sleeping, she was in the streets with Emma going to garage sales, Kroger and others stores like Burlington and Marshall's. When it was time to just be home, her other hobby was to cook. Her known favorites were Spanish rice and enchiladas. They were a special treat to some birthdays and holidays. Others it was a monthly treat. When it was time to rest, she loved to watch I Love Lucy and Golden Girls. Her place of worship was Casa de Dios Bautista off of Long Point.

She is survived by husband Jose Mondragon, brother David, sons Joey, Isaias and Isaac, granddaughter Eliseb, grandson Noah, stepdaughter Ana and stepson Luis. Whom all will miss her very much. Along with other family and many friends and family in Christ. May she rest in peace and join those who have predeceased us. Who we all truly miss and think of always.

A visitation for Lucinda will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A memory sharing service will occur Friday, December 8, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A committal service will occur Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
