Linda Ann Lockett

Linda Anne Lockett, 73, passed away peacefully with family members by her side on May 22, 2023, after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born to Albert Vernon Lockett and Anne Whitney Lockett in Tyler, TX, July 10, 1949. Linda was a loving sister and adored Aunt.

Linda moved from Corpus Christi, TX, to the Austin State Supported Living Center in July of 1961. She shared a dormitory with many of the same residents for close to sixty years. She was active in the workshop at the school and enjoyed working, socializing, and especially walking all around the hundred plus acre campus visiting with "friends". She also enjoyed singing in the church choir. Linda had an infectious personality that would make people laugh with her. Linda never met a stranger. She loved her coffee, diet coke, anything sweet, Santa Claus and baby dolls.

One of the highlights of Linda's life was spending time with her sister, who stopped by weekly to take her to lunch and on off campus adventures. Linda also loved spending time with her nieces and nephew during the holiday season. They were a highlight that she always looked forward to.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Anne Lockett. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn McCrocklin and husband, John, of San Marcos and, nephew Clint McCrocklin, and wife, Heather, of New Braunfels, nieces Julie Gray and husband, Daniel, of San Marcos and Courtney Hodge and husband, Clay, of Tyler, two great nieces Hadley McCrocklin and Kendall Hodge and five great nephews, Callum McCrocklin, Corbin McCrocklin, Jack Gray, Nathan Gray and Cooper Hodge.

Services will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home of Houston, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079, at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2023.
