Leslie Byron Lee

Leslie was born July 15, 1939 in Houston. He graduated Milby High School in Houston prior to attending Sam Houston State University for 2 years. Les worked at Calico Insurance as a printer. During this time he met his wife Frances. Subsequent jobs included Prudential Insurance, Palmer Paper Company (35 years), and Clampitt Paper (12 years). Afterward he was coaxed out of retirement by his old customer and friend Bill McCrosky of Snappy/Caboose Printing where he worked for 12 more years. Les was thankful for the opportunity and enjoyed it until he became ill.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Mary Gladys Lee, Father Robert Hudson Lee, Mother-In Law Katherine Mitchell, and Father-In-Law Ben Mitchell. Survived by his wife of 62 years and 7 months Frances Lee. Children Robert Byron Lee, wife Shadara, Randall Benjamin Lee, Amy Wagner. Grandchildren Carson, Cameron, Kendall, and Maddie.

Les was passionate about his music. He spent many hours recording music for all his family and friends to enjoy. Another favorite thing to do was ride the Casino buses to Louisiana and play the penny slots. He also loved his part time job calling on customers in the used car business that described him as a great guy and good friend. He was a loyal member of the Milby Alumni Lunch Bunch. Out of all his favorite things to do, there is no doubt that he enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids the most. Whether coaching sports, gambling, grilling, fishing, traveling or telling jokes/stories; as long as the family was there he was happy.

A visitation for Leslie will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A rosary service will occur Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A committal service will occur Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A reception will occur Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
