Lawrence Henry "Larry" Richter was blessed by God on Friday, February 25th 2011 with a quiet and dignified passing, that ended his full and rich life on this Earth. His life was gentle but like still waters, it was deep. In his heart he carried those he loved; his hand was never weary and his step never failed in caring for and ministering to those who were in any way dependent on him.
Larry was born on a farm near Beasley Texas on July 12, 1924, to German-speaking parents Herman Richter and Clara Bohn Richter. He attended Beasley High School and trained at Ft. Hood Texas before serving in the Army in WWII. After his discharge, he worked for Hughes Tool Company for 40 years in the Computer Department. He attended many technical-related computer courses, supervising in various departments throught the years, until retiring on February 1, 1985.
Larry married Elsie Keith in Houston in 1946 and had 2 sons with her. He provided loving care for her during her prolonged illness until her death in 1985.
Larry married Mollie Morris in 1986 and was her loving companion until his death. He was a member St Stephen Presbyterian Church and enjoyed traveling and camping in his R.V. square dancing, bird watching and walking
Larry is survived by his Wife, Mollie Richter; Sisters Lorene and husband Loyd Engel, Ella Mae and husband Buddy Schmidt, and Gladys Henrichsen; Sons Lawrence Richter Jr. and Donald Richter and wife Sue; Grandchildren Donald Richter Jr, Deleana Faye Barnett, Darrell Richter, Sara Howell, Benjamin Richter , and Sierra Ramirez; nine Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM. to 8:00 PM. Tuesday March 1 and funeral services will be at 10:00 am. Wednesday March 2, Both services Forest Park Funeral Home, Interment will follow at Southpark Cemetery, 1310 North Main St, Pearland Tx
In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in memory of Larry may be directed to St Stephen Presbyterian Church, 2217 Theta St, Houston Texas 77034 or Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcomb Blvd., Houston Texas 77030
