Lawrence Elvin Duff. 89, went to be with our Lord on October 10, 2021. He is survived by his children, Angela Mason, Melanie Mills and Kevin Duff; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He is proceeded by his brothers J.T Duff Jr. Jack Duff and parents J.T Duff Senior and Irma Mullen Hill.
Lawrence was born August 28, 1932 in Schwab City outside of Livingston, TX. After high school, he embarked on a military career spanning 12 years; May of 1950 to August 1953 in the U.S Navy and May of 1954 to May of 1963 in the U.S Air Force. He was a war time veteran who served as a Gunner's mate during the Korean War while in the U.S Navy aboard the U.S.S General G.M. Randall.
During his years in the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Evelyn Lee, and was married in 1956. The first of two beautiful daughters were born Sept. 6, 1958 (Angela) and Sept 23,1964 (Melanie); On Sept.1,1972 they were joined by Lawrence's baby boy, Kevin Duff.
Lawrence was a devoted father and avid sports enthusiast. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had long careers as both an oilfield tool pusher and overland truck driver. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 am on Thursday October 21st at Advantage Funeral Home at 7010 Chetwood Drive, Houston, TX 77081. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the above address.
