  Jessie, even though I haven't known you very long, and I only met Laura once, I want to let your family know that I have been praying for them since I met Laura a few summers ago in swim team. I do know that you had a very special bond with her, and if at any time you find yourself needing the presence of a little, giddy, playful girl, or you simply miss Laura, my sister will always be here for you, as will I. And if you ever need someone to talk to, someone who knows a similar experience to yours, because my sister has a severe chronic colon and intestine disease that she is fighting at a very young age, I will stop in my tracks to listen. Please just know that you will forever be in our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Laura was a very special and beautiful girl. Although I never met her, I've heard about her in Grace and want to wish you my blessings. God is with you to help you through and give you wisdom and strength. My cousin was diagnosed with cancer in early December, he just turned 7 and is now overgoing treatments at Texan Children's Hospital. God Bless You All

I will be thinking a good deal about the mighty Laura on her birthday this week, as I do every day.  She continues to be such an inspiration and light in my life.

Andy and Family - ever since Andy told us about Laura's relapse last fall, we have been praying for her recovery and for your family.  We are all devastated by your loss and you continue to be in our constant thoughts and prayers.  Andy is such an integral part of our "family" here that we cannot but share in your grief and loss. Andy and family, I have been devasted by the news of Laura ever since I found out.  When I lost my mother two years ago, it helped me knowing that she left this world knowing how much I loved her, that I did everything possible to help her fight and that her suffering was over.  I can only hope you find comfort in these sentiments as well.  My family's thoughts and prayers are with you.

 Even though we only knew each other briefly while you were here in Doha, we share a common bond as members of a unique sorority—bereaved mothers.  I feel such compassion for you and share in your sorrow as you endure the excruciating pain of Laura's passing.  Someone once told me that, “your pain is as deep as your love” and I have found that statement to be true.  It has been eight years since my daughter, Ann Marie, died. She was 13.  I can tell you that the pain never goes away but, through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ, you get stronger.  I call it “being healed without being made whole”. 
  May God continue to bless and sustain you as you navigate this journey of bereavement.
