Larry Raye Young

He was born on August 31, 1954, in Houston Texas to Jodie Young, Jr. and Gertrude Young. Larry was a beloved member f the community, known for his strong work ethic and his ability to bring joy to those around him.

Larry dedicated his career to public service, working for the Metro Transit Union, the City of Houston and The Port of Houston. His commitment and dedication to his work were admired by all who knew him.

Larry received his education at Pleasantville Elementary, Phyllis Wheatley High School and Texas Southern University.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Jodie Young Jr., and Mrs. Gertrude Young, Brother; Joseph Young, Grandparents; and Nephew; Michael Brooks.

In his personal life, Larry cherished his time spent with friends and family. He had two sons; Larry Young, Jr, and Jodie Young and a daughter; Rosie Young. He is also survived by his sister Doris Jean Young Harris and several precious grandchildren. Larry will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation for Larry will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Following immediately afterwards will be the committal at PARADISE NORTH CEMETERY, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
