Kendall Mone’t McPherson, 24, of Houston, Texas, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. She had the strength and courage to smile through the many adversities of her sudden illness. After being hospitalized for almost 10 months, she still kept smiling.
She was born on December 14, 1997 to the parents of James W. McPherson and Dianne J. McPherson and that’s when she began to make her mark on those that were fortunate to share space with her. She accepted Christ at the early age of 5 years old. Her favorite scripture was, “I can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
Kendall was a loving and compassionate person who enjoyed being silly and bringing laughter to this party we call life. She had the most contagious laugh, that would make you join in with her until you started to cry and your stomach would hurt! She was positive and only wanted to see the best outcome in every situation.
She loved Family Fun Nights, hanging out with her extension of family for the holidays, spending time with her bestie, online shopping for make-up and hair products. She enjoyed all genres of music, getting her nails done, cooking and watching her favorite movies or YouTube influencers. Kendall was an author, amazing storyteller (land the plane Mone’t is what we would say) because she could go on and on. She aspired to become a chef and own a daycare.
The love she had for her siblings was priceless, and even those that were a bonus to the family were considered in her heart as brother, sister, uncle, auntie, cousin she adored them just as much. Kendall was a wonderful daughter that demonstrated what unconditional love looked like in the natural. She was loyal to the term of being “Daddy’s and Mommy’s Girl!”
Most of all she loved her family, church family and the children she serviced at the YMCA After School Program. If you were lucky enough to be present when she interacted with her students, pure joy would radiate from her and their faces which would literally blind you. Kendall wanted nothing more but to love and be loved, travel the world and experience life to its fullest.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Herman and Sarah Lang, her sister T’Neisha Lang, brother Matthew McPherson; and is survived by her father James W. McPherson, mother Dianne J. McPherson; paternal grandparents Velvet Ellegan (Anthony) and James Landry; Granny-in-love Mardester Blackmon, brothers Donovan and Brian, sisters Asia and Taylor; Godmother Tangy Reed (Fred) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
