Karen loved everyone, and was a caretaker for her family, both those related by blood and those related by friendship. She worked in the food service department at Memorial Hermann Memorial City hospital for many years. She loved and cared for her co-workers and her patients every day. She took in stray animals loved them and cared for them with everything she had. While her children were young she ran an in home daycare for her nephew, niece and the neighborhood children.
Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents Edith and Edward Hendrickson, father Ferdinand Zaunbrecher, and cousin Misty Holland. She is survived by her mother Janet Sawyer, children Joshua and Timothy Damon, brothers David and Randy Zaunbrecher and sisters-in-law Mae and Kim Zaunbrecher, aunt Jeannie Bramble, uncles Doug and Edward.
