He attended the Arcadia Parish High School in his native state and enlisted into the United States Army, where he served his country in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. He received an honorable discharge for his service.
Joseph moved to Houston, TX where he met and married his beloved wife, Dorothy, and raised their family. He was also a long time member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, which he attended regularly until his health declined. Joseph retired from HISD after twenty years of service. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Cormier, his children, Monica Davis and Joseph Cormier Jr., his daughter in law, Tonia Cormier, his grandchildren, Baylie, Davon, Elyzia, Maia, and Rebekah, his sister, Elizabeth Cormier, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
