Joseph Robert Holman peacefully departed from this world on Friday, the 24th of March 2023, in Houston. He was 76 years of age. Affectionately known as "Joe" by his friends and family, he was born on the 16th of March 1947, and spent his formative years in Brownsville, Texas.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is predeceased by his parents, Jack Holman and Verna Ruth Holman Anders. Joe's beloved daughter, Melissa Holman Juneau, and son, Joseph Wade Holman, survive him. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren, Carissa Dube, Jordan Holman, Shelby Holman, Joseph F. Holman, Scarlette Juneau; and great-grandchildren; Landon, Oaklee, and River Dube.
Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served his country with honor and distinction during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968. His numerous service medals, decorations and awards serve as a lasting testament to his bravery and unwavering commitment to his country.
Following his military service, he worked at the United States Post Office for 35 years.
Joe had a passion for adventure and enjoyed living life to the fullest. He loved riding motorcycles and was a talented photographer who captured the beauty of nature and wildlife. His love for life and the natural world inspired those around him.
Joe also proudly served as a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, ensuring that Fallen Military Heroes received the dignity and respect they deserved at memorial services.
A memorial service is to be conducted at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 1200 MacKintosh Drive in Brownsville, Texas.
At a later date, the family will gather for a private inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., where military honors are to be rendered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
