Joseph K. Cooney

Joseph Kraemer Cooney passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, from complications following surgery in February. He was born in Houston on October 16, 1941. Joseph was predeceased by parents, Walter and Julia Cooney, sister, Mary Domingue, and beloved partner Karl Dutt. He is survived by brother, William and his wife Geneva; sister, Shelia Tybor and her husband Art; brother, David and his wife Peggy; brother, Kevin and his wife Theresa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph graduated from St. Anne’s Parochial School, Marian High School, and the University of St. Thomas. He was an accountant his entire professional career and had a successful accounting and tax practice that was still active at the time of his death. Joseph was a kind, generous brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be remembered fondly for his humor, loyalty, faith, tolerance and great heart.

Vigil services will be held at the Advantage Funeral Home Chapel, at 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2012. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at the All Saints Church, 215 East 10th Street, where Joe was a longtime parishioner and served as Eucharistic Minister. Burial will follow at the Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
