He met Maria Flores in 1965 and they got married on May 12, 1966 in San Benito. Shortly after they moved to Austin to have their eldest son Joe. They then settled down in Houston where they then had their two other sons Jessie and Roland. He worked for Firestone from 1975 until his retirement in 2014.
He had great love for his wife, his sons, and his grandkids: Jessie, Zoey, Alex, Bella, JP, Christy, and Mikey. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandkids. Jose loved attending/watching NHRA Drag Races, any classic cars, going to car shows, working on his 1957 Chevy, burning rubber and of course working on everyone’s else’s cars. His love extended to Texas Longhorns football, his dogs: Pete, Miley and Sissy, going to casinos and playing Loteria for hours on end, desserts, and Fat Maria’s Tacos.
If you knew him, you know his generosity towards anyone who ever needed a helping hand, especially if it was car related. He touched us all in many ways and he will forever be in our hearts and will always be remembered for the great man that he was.
We Love you Popo!
