Jorge Luis Gonzalez, age 33, fell asleep in death Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 in Houston surrounded by family. He was the loving husband of Gloria Gonzalez, with whom he recently celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.
Jorge was born in Mexico City to father and mother, Jorge Luis Gonzalez and the late Alicia Espinosa. He was raised in Houston by his father and stepmother, the late Leticia Gonzalez.
Jorge was a devoted husband and father who cherished every moment spent with his family. He enjoyed making people laugh and easily became a friend to those he met. Jorge enjoyed fishing, hunting, soccer, and loved working on cars. A deeply loyal friend to all, Jorge shared numerous happy times with his many nieces and nephews, brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law, and friends in these activities. Always upbeat and happy, Jorge could easily put a smile on your face with his creative stories and imagination. There was never a dull moment in his presence and all who knew Jorge, loved Jorge!
In addition to his wife, Gloria, he leaves his only son, Jorge “Jorgie” Gonzalez, Jr., his “Little Chicharito;” sister, Claudia Hernandez; brothers, Jalil Gonzalez, Albert Gonzalez, and Karim Gonzalez. Also surviving him are several family members and friends.
Jorge and Gloria married at a young age, grew up together and were proud of their strength, commitment and endurance through their many years of marriage. They were blessed with their only son, Jorgie, with whom Jorge enjoyed spending every moment available, teaching him to play video games, watching soccer games , taking trips to the toy store and sharing his hobbies. The special bond between Jorge, his wife, and son is unbreakable and their love will live on forever.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
His funeral service will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 9835 Kempwood Dr., Houston, Texas 77080. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
Contributions in his honor may be made to the local Houston American Heart Association.
