John "Jack" Stanley Shelton was born on July 8 , 1920 in Dallas,TX.He graduated Woodrow Wilson High School and later North Texas University.He served in the US Coast Guard during WW II on board PA26,an attack / transport unit in the Pacific.
He was preceded in death by one son and daughter,Dwight Shelton and Diana Wilcox.His mother Marie,a brother Charles and sister Dolly also preceded him in death.He is survived by his loving wife of 63yrs Frankie Shelton,one son Craig Shelton and wife Maria,and one daughter Dona Kimmons and husband Ken and a sister-n-law Nancy Sue Williams.He also leaves behind seven grandchildren;Sherri Bolton,David Snow,Rebecca Luna,Stacy Selby,Andy and Lori Shelton, and Cassandra Flores.Nine great grandchildren;Ashton and Hayden Selby,Blake and Ryan Luna,Kayla and Kinsey Snow,Shawna,Jamie and Jimmy,and niece Caroline White and husband Jim, and Gracie Tynes and husband Harry. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday the 16th from 6pm to 8pm at Forest Park Lawndale.Funeral services will take place Wednesday the 17th at 2pm in the Family Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale with burial immediately following.
