John Carlton Lambert died peacefully in his home in the company of his family in Humble, TX at the age of 66 on December 24, 2015. John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon Lambert; daughter, Stephanie Esparza and husband Eddie; and grandson, Ethan Esparza. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Adams; father, Carlton Lambert; maternal grandparents, Donald and Irene Cooksey; paternal grandparents, Bill and Letha Harding; and uncle, John Adams. John was born June 18, 1949 in Huntsville, Texas. He graduated from Smiley High School in 1967 and studied criminal justice at Sam Houston State University. He became a Houston Police Officer in 1980 where his career spanned 35 years. He served in the Special Operations Division, Jail Division, Personnel Division and the Training Division – Firearms Training. The majority of his career (over 26 years) he served as a firearms instructor at the Houston Police Academy, where he trained several thousand officers. John was an active member of Northeast Houston Baptist Church where he enjoyed teaching a Bible study class, participating in several Mission Trips – local and international, serving at the Farrington Mission and helping out with all ministries of the church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at Humble Area First Baptist Church, 19901Townsen Boulevard East, Humble, TX 77338 on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held before the funeral service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Service will be officiated by John’s Pastor and friend, Nathan Lino. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX.
