John Daniel Clay was the youngest of nine children (*Tracy Jr., Leon, *Viola, Leroy, *Cleveland (Bob), Lula, Fannie, and Archie)born to Tracy and Bertha Clay in Pearland, Texas on July 2, 1941. He enjoyed working with his father in the field and learning different jobs. His education was shortened because he chose to care of his aging parents. When it came to cars, trucks and parts, highways and roads, he could talk for hours giving valuable information. More importantly he liked to talk about God’s goodness. He met Clara Howard and they married. From this union they bore six children.
He worked many years for ProKop Lumber Company, Younger Brothers Trucking and M&L Truck Leasing. With his illness he longed to get back to work, but on April 14, 2015 God called him to a new assignment. He leaves behind his Significant Other Linda Pace Bridgeman, His children: John Clay Jr. (Monica Clay), Carmen Keys, Rodney Clay, Brenda Jackson(Hosea), Marcus Clay(Caren), LaTasha Castor(Lamar), Cassius Clay(Robbin), His grandchildren: Erika Clay, Marcus A. Clay, John Clay III, Aschton Manuel, Amber, Castor, Taylor Clay, Morgan Clay, Brook Castor, Hosea J. Jackson, Autumn Jackson, Madison Clay, Johnathan Castor, Raigan Clay, Christian Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Aspen Clay, Caleb Clay, Jacob Castor, Ethan Clay, Hardasia Castor and a host of nieces and nephews.
