John William Buchanan IV

Funeral service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 4 pm. Visitation will be held at 9149 Highway 6 North. Please wear a mask.

John was born in Destin, Florida to John and Gail Buchanan on August 25th, 1964. He graduated from Texas A&M University and went on to earn a master’s degree in education. He worked as a flight attendant with United Airlines for 23 and as a REALTOR for 18 years. He enjoyed reading, collecting art and Disney memorabilia. He received Golden wings, REALTOR of the year for WCR Humble, recently he achieved Vylla Golden Elite for 2021, and was involved in different Pageantry Systems for LGBTQ community.

John is survived by his husband, Osmar Buchanan of Nicaragua. John is also survived by his chosen family including Natalie Henshilwood, Shawn Jones, Sharon Williams, Parents in law Luz Martinez and Felix Benavides, Siblings in law Felix, Gabriel and Luz Benavides, his nephews Felix Antonio and Isaias, and Niece Allison. He also had a brother Scott Buchanan, from Dallas.
