Joel Omar Celaya was born in Mexico City, Mexico on June 12, 1972. He later moved to Houston, Texas where he graduated from Sam Rayburn High School and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science at the University of Houston.
Joel was an amazing entrepreneur who contributed and influenced the community around him on a daily basis through his businesses, the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Houston Partnership.
He was a beloved father, stepfather, uncle, brother, son, and loyal friend to many. He is survived by his wife, children, siblings, parents, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He will always be remembered for his impeccable sense of humor, salsa dancing, and his unconditional love and support for anyone he came in contact with.
