Joe H. Young passed away on May 19, 2011 at age 54 from complications of lung cancer. Joe was born in Houston, Texas on September 28, 1956 to Dick and Geraldine Young. Joe graduated from HISD, attended technical college, and then successfully obtained Master Electrician Certification. Joe was an employee of Stover and Parker Electrical Company for about 28 years. Joe and his wife Shirley met in high school and were married for 32 years. Joe was predeceased by his parents, sister Dixie Young Davis and brother Gerald Young. He is survived by his wife Shirley, sister Lois Avery, brother Dick Young/ wife Dena, mother-in-law Laura Muzny, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 22 from 3-5 P.M. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Monday, May 23 at 12:30 P.M. in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
