Joe Grant McCourt lost his two year courageous battle with cancer on August 2, 2014. He was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, papa, brother, uncle and friend, who never met a stranger. He was a thirty five year veteran of the Houston Fire Department. He was passionate about giving back to the community and did so through volunteering at Camp Janus (Children's Burn Camp) for over twenty years.
He is survived by his wife Cindy McCourt; daughter, Jodi Kennedy and husband Phil, sons Ethan and Aiden; son, Joshua McCourt; stepdaughter, Sara Jester, husband Jeremy, children Riley, Abby, James and Aaron; brother, Mark McCourt wife Susan and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Service will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 1pm on Saturday August 9, 2014.
Joe would want us all to remember one of his all-time favorite quotes from Jimmy Buffet during this trying time, "If we can't laugh, we will all go insane"
