Joan G. Allen went to be with her Lord on August 28, 2017. She was born on November 13, 1931 in Springfield, Missouri to parents Robert Andrew and Elva Edith Greathouse. Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward M. Allen; parents and brother, Robert Greathouse. She is survived by her six children, Jennifer Pierce and husband Buck, Bill Williams, Nat Williams and wife Shelby, Donnie Allen and wife Claire, Danny Allen, Shaaron Calderon; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-three plus great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sister, Freda M. Brinson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and a funeral service Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home; followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
