Jimmy worked in a machine shop along with a forging company. He also worked in the sales business. He worked at K.O. Forge, Olds Press and Forge for 41 years and retired from 5 Star Metals. He had a great passion for hunting, fishing, the outdoors, cooking Bar-B-Que or anything else on his grill, classic country music and he especially loved being an AWESOME “PaPaw” to his two grandsons.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Stacy Duffy and her husband, Steve; his grandsons, Richard Duffy and Steven Duffy; his sisters, Marlena Manning, Coy Jo Martin, and Debbie Allen and her husband, Roger; and his brother, Larry “Buddy” Compton. In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn and his son Jimmy "Jimmy Boy" Compton.
The family will receive extended family and friends for visitation on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 10, 2020 at Brookside Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
