Jimmie was born, Wednesday, January 28, 1948 to Lee Patke and Florine Chmiel Patke. Jimmie was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Jimmie loved his old cars and enjoyed going to Swap Meets on the weekend. Jimmie worked at several companies and with individuals doing sheetrock work and remodeling.
Jimmie was a loving husband, Dad, Daddy, Pawpaw, Pappy and father-in-law. A good provider, who always wanted to make sure his family was taken care of. Jimmie loved taking pictures with his family and always had a big smile on his face. Jimmie enjoyed telling the grandchildren about his younger days. He also enjoyed his grandchildren reading and telling jokes to each other. He loved listening to Polish and old music, while dancing when he was able too. He never met a stranger and had many friends.
Jimmie was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Florine Patke, brother, Bruno Patke, father and mother-in-law, Louis and Pennelope Posinski, brother-in-laws, Louis Posinski Jr. and Ronald Brock.
Survivors include his loving wife Margaret Patke, whom he married October 12, 1974 in Houston TX, as well as his son, Timothy Patke wife, Amy of Plantersville and daughter, Tina Patke-Chervenka husband, Anthony of Kingwood TX. Jimmie was a loving grandfather to Alyssa Chervenka, Brycen Patke, Taylor Chervenka and Maddy Thomas. He was the oldest of four children to Bruno Patke (deceased) wife Lillian, Billy Patke wife Jannette and sister, Shirley Patke. Jimmie is also survived by his in-laws, Pierce Glass wife Connie, Agnes Brock, Rosie Chmiel husband Bennie and Mary Posinski, many nieces and nephews and his God-child, Jason Chmiel.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Timothy Patke, Anthony Chervenka, Brycen Patke, Jason Chmiel, Jeff Chmiel and Johnny Patke. Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Patke and Bennie Chmiel with honorary pallbearer from Heaven, Bruno Patke, Louis Posinski and Ronald Brock.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday, February 16th, at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, in Houston TX. A rosary will follow at 6:00 pm with Deacon Charles. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, February 17th, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 501 Tidwell Rd, Houston TX, with Fr. Jesus Lizalde. The rite of committal will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston TX, with Deacon Charles.
