On August 7th, 2021, Jamshed Piroshaw Mobed died and went to meet the Lord Ahura Mazda. He was 81 years old, only a few days shy of his 82nd birthday. Jamshed and his wife Roshni had three wonderful daughters together—Jarafshan Mistry (married to Tehmus Mistry), Jarafreen Bharucha (married to Darius Bharucha), and Tanaz Mobed. Jamshed also had eight amazing grandchildren: Yazdy, Jeremiah, Xerxes, Nariman, Jade, Freyana, Zechariah, and Nehemiah.
Family was Jamshed’s number one priority in life. Jamshed acted on this and put his family ahead of his own interests. In search of better education and more opportunities for their daughters, he and his wife left Pakistan and immigrated to the United States in 1987. After that, Jamshed made Houston his home for almost thirty five years where he was known for his friendly, outgoing, fun, generous, lively, behavior; indeed he was often described as, “the life of the party”. Jamshed was an avid sportsman—he played cricket, hockey, tennis, and ran track and field. He loved to play cards with his family and friends. He was kind and generous and always lent a hand when people were in trouble.
Jamshed P. Mobed will be missed by his family, friends, and the community. RIP Jamshed.
