James Thomas "Jim" Nowlin, Sr.

James Thomas Nowlin, Sr. was born in Woodville, Texas on September 18, 1937 to parents T.B. Nowlin, Jr. and Iva Lee (Garner) Nowlin. He passed away in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the age of 83.

Jim attended Leggett High School in Leggett, Texas, and finished High School in Houston. He retired after 33 years with the Texas Department of Transportation as an Engineering Specialist.

His beloved wife Helen Alice (Coleman) Nowlin, preceded Jim in death in 2017. He is survived by his son, Jim Nowlin, Jr. and wife Shanna; brother, Robert Nowlin, Jr. and wife Katherine; aunt, Joan Mooneyham, as well as many other loving family members.

Family and friends will gather and share memories during a visitation at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Jim T. Middleton, at 10:00 a.m.

Graveside services and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Center Grove Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.
