James Edward Fisher

James was a wonderful man who loved his family and never met a stranger. He would start his daily routine with God’s word then he listened to ESPN without fail trying to keep up with all the action and events. Among others, his favorite teams included the Pittsburg Steelers and the L.A. Lakers. James loved watching old westerns as well as listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s. However, when 10:00 AM rolled around everything else shut down for the Price Is Right.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Carol) Fisher, Woodrow Fisher; brother, Willie C. Fisher; and granddaughter, Taylar Rae Fisher.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 55 years, Viola D. Fisher; two daughters, Vonda U. Fisher (Terence), Usulnee S. Wade( Ricky); son, Kermit D. Fisher (Mary); six grandchildren, Alexis Toliver (Arkeith), Kermeshia Mayo( Marcus), Brittany Wade, Christopher Rico Isaac, Kayla Fisher, Blake Wade; seven great grandchildren, Kennedy, Arkayla, Mariah, Arkayden, Myles, Arkayln, Arkayson; brother, Woodrow Fisher Jr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and family members.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on August 9, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, at the Fifth Ward Church of Christ, 4308 Stonewall St., Houston, Texas 77020, with a Celebration of Life Service starting at 11:00 AM, and a burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park and Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
