James T. Evans, of Houston, Texas, was born on August 10, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Byron and Helen James Evans. Jim passed away at age 74 on June 18, 2018. He graduated cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 1968. He was appointed one of the youngest municipal court judges in the history of Texas and served as a political consultant to numerous campaigns. He was a dedicated member of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity and a follower of the Episcopalian faith. Jim served our country in the United States Army and continued to serve the people as a business and real estate attorney at Evans Law Office until he retired in 2018. Jim was married to the love of his life, Jean West Evans until his passing. He is survived by his sister, Betty Evans Cone; his stepsons, Jon Anderson, Wade Wimbish, and Kenny Wimbish; and grandchildren, Katie, Alex, Karis, Kassandra, Anissa, Sophie, and Langdon and a host of nieces and nephews. The memorial service, officiated by Rev. Jan Hosea, will be held on Friday, June 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Epiphany Episcopal Church, 9600 S. Gessner Road at Bissonnet, Houston, Texas, 77071. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The Emergency Aid Coalition, 5401 Fannin Street, Houston, Texas, 77004.
