Jake Allen Simmer

A funeral service for Jake will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079, followed by a committal service from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Jake was a beautiful soul, wise beyond his years. He was a beloved son and brother who brought joy to everyone he ever met. Jake was unbelievably funny and kind, offering help to anyone who needed it. He was incredibly loving and compassionate, he loved his friends, family, and pets immeasurably.

Jake was a senior at Acellus Academy and was 6 credits away from graduating high school. He planned on attending college locally and dreamed of being a paramedic or entrepreneur. Jake was creatively gifted and loved painting, graffiti, music writing and mixing, rapping, and clothing design. He enjoyed fishing, biking, and hanging out with his close friends and family. He was adventurous and loved to travel, hike, and swim. His last family trip was to Disney World, where he discovered his love of rollercoasters. He was a daredevil and courageous young man, always up for the next adventure.

Jake is preceded by his Grandmother Janet Simmer in Heaven.

Jake is survived by his mother and father, Tara Simmer and Rickey Simmer II, Sisters Kaytlin Simmer and Jacklyn Simmer, Grandparents Gary Lauderdale, Gayle Lauderdale, Rickey Simmer I, Step-Grandmother Rebecca Southerland Simmer, Aunts Tonya Harper, Tiffany Phillips, and Jeannine Lobb, Uncle George Phillips, and Cousins Logan Harper, Kelsey Thompson, Colby Harper, Auden Phillips, Nolen Phillips, Zachary Thornhill, Ashley Thornhill, and Gabrielle Thornhill.
