Hung was born on April 4, 1946 in Saigon, Vietnam to parents Nguyen Tang Hy and Le Thi Nhung. He spent the last 50 years with his best friend and wife, Kim Oanh Nguyen. Together, they raised three children Christie Zoeller, Jennifer Nguyen, and Brian Nguyen, and have two grandchildren Joshua and Dylan Zoeller. He is also survived by son-in-laws Paul Zoeller and Edmund Lehmann, his stepmother Ha Thi Khoi, and his brothers and sisters Hanh, Hao, Hieu, Hau, Huong, Hoang, Hien, Hi and Hai Nguyen.
Hung studied chemistry in Vietnam and served in the South Vietnamese military. He and Kim married on April 12, 1975 and immigrated soon after to the US. He went on to graduate from Texas Tech University and worked as a chemical engineer with KBR for more than 30 years. Hung loved to travel around the world, build computers, and listen to music.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park on November 30, 2021 from 2:00 PM -7:00 PM at 2454 S. Dairy Ashford Rd, Houston, TX. A funeral service will be held on December 1 at 11 AM at Epiphany of the Lord at 1530 Norwalk Dr., Katy, TX. Flowers can be sent to Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park at 2454 S. Dairy Ashford Rd, Houston, TX 77077 or donations can made in your charity of choice in Hung’s memory.
