Mrs. Hazel Adell Leonard-Collins was born on December 12, 1942 to Willie & Georgia Mae Leonard in Smithville, Texas. Hazel passed peacefully from this world and received her wings Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at the age of 72. Hazel graduated from Kashmere Senior High School in 1962. Hazel accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. Hazel became a member of Mount Sania under the leadership of Rev. W. E. Walker and later became a member of Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H. B. Sampson Sr. She later joined Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Jesse H. Jones Sr. and now the leadership of Pastor D. Earl Lewis where she remained a faithful member until her transition. Hazel served as president of the mission and very instrumental in planning trips for the silver and gold crew. Hazel was a deaconess and she worked faithful with the 1st Archives of the G. O. G. B. C. Hazel was very influential on giving encouraging words to the youth and young adults. Hazel's job affiliations were Head Start School Program, Giddings Photography and Methodist Hospital. Hazel met & married Danville Collins, Jr. in 1980. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Georgia Mae Leonard; son, Victor Lamont Williams (1972); two sisters, Jayme Collier and Edna Marie Leonard; two brothers Cleotha Leonard and Herbert Leonard. Hazel leaves behind to cherish her memories; her loving husband, Danville Collins, daughter, Jacinto Nicole Williams, grandson, British Lamont Collins, sisters; Fannie M. Littles (Norris), Laurice Ward; brothers, Willie Leonard, Jr., Norris Leonard (Sharon), Rickey Leonard; sisters in law, Joann Jolivet, Helen Collins; God-daughters, Learlean (Punkin) Davis, Deandrea Dirden; special friend, Mavis Jean O'Neal and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
