During his lifetime, Hal was an avid golfer and had played since high school. He learned to play golf by caddying at River Oaks Country Club as a young man. He loved almost any sport and played/coached softball, umpired Little League baseball, and was a die-hard fan of the University of Texas Longhorn football team. He was dedicated to his family, and spent his time attending any sport event, school activity or dance recital he could get to. He loved to hunt deer, turkey and birds, and shared a hunting lease with his lifelong friends for many years. He was active in his church, Lazybrook Baptist Church, and loved participating in the Men's Ministry, especially cooking for the annual fish fry. He was a kind and gentle soul to his family, and he loved animals, especially all of the various family members' pets. He was the best of fathers and grandfathers, and it would be hard to find someone more loved.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Lazybrook Baptist Church, 1822 W.18th Street, Houston, Texas, 77008.
