He was married to Enedelia on March 27, 1960 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Guadalupe worked as a painter for City of Houston Parks and Recreation Dept. He retired in May, 1994.
His passion was his family and enjoyed gatherings with his children. He delighted in seeing his grandkids play sports and made every possible effort to attend all their sporting activities. He believed in education and even though he only had the opportunity to attend elementary school, he taught himself reading, writing and mathematics. He instilled the passion of higher education in his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Fidel De Leon and Teresita Maldonado and his siblings: Fidel, Manuel and Dolores Davila. He is survived by his children: Olga Lydia (Thomas) Villasenor, Fidel (Susana), Juan Jose (Maria), Mary (Juan Manuel) Carreon, Isidro G. (Amalie), David (Sylvia). 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Guadalupe is also survived by his siblings: Concepcion Gonzalez, Pedro and Juan.
A visitation for Guadalupe will be held Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 28, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.

Guadalupe De León, 88, de Houston, TX, falleció el 23 de septiembre de 2020. Nació en La Corona, Gen. Teran, N.L. el 15 de mayo de 1932.
Se casó con Enedelia el 27 de marzo de 1960 y este año celebraron su 60 aniversario de bodas. Guadalupe trabajó como pintor para el Departamento de Parques y Recreación de la Ciudad de Houston. Se jubiló en mayo de 1994.
Su pasión era su familia y disfrutaba de las reuniones con sus hijos. Le encantó ver a sus nietos hacer deporte e hizo todo lo posible por asistir a todas sus actividades deportivas. Creía en obtener una educación y, aunque solo tuvo la oportunidad de asistir a la escuela primaria, aprendió a leer, escribir y matemáticas por sí mismo. Inculcó la pasión de la educación superior en sus hijos y nietos.
Le anteceden en la muerte sus padres: Fidel De León y Teresita Maldonado y sus hermanos: Fidel, Manuel y Dolores Dolores Dávila. Le sobreviven sus hijos: Olga Lydia (Thomas) Villasenor, Fidel (Susana), Juan Jose (Maria), Mary (Juan Manuel) Carreon, Isidro G. (Amalie), David (Sylvia). 18 nietos y 9 bisnietos. A Guadalupe también le sobreviven sus hermanos: Concepción González, Pedro y Juan.
Una visita a Guadalupe se llevará a cabo el domingo 27 de septiembre de 2020 de 6:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Se realizará un funeral el lunes 28 de septiembre de 2020 de 10:30 AM a 11:30 AM. Un entierro a seguir en Brookside Memorial Park.
