She was born in Houston on the 21st of June 1923, a sixth generation Texan. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1940.
She is a current member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Junior League of Houston, and she served as a Proxy of Tradition Bank for many years. She was a long-time member of Lakeside Country Club. Her hobbies included golf and bridge. She was a participant in the Hillshire Village Bridge Club and the Friday Night Live dinner club where she lived.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, G. Warren Coles, Jr.; her parents, Robert G. Lewis and Lillian Lucile Sandel Lewis; her sister Jean Lewis Speer; and her daughter Sharon K. Coles. She is survived by her children, Robert E. Coles and his wife Sandi, S. Lynn Coles Mays, Donna Coles Spriggs, and Warren L. Coles and wife Kathi. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Erin E. Koford, Robert E. Coles, Jr. and his wife Viviana, Major A. Coles and his wife Ashley, Travis W. Mays, Elyssa L. Mays, Tyler L. Mays, Savannah L. Spriggs, Mary Cristina Coles, and Lauren E. Coles. Also surviving are five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from half-past ten o'clock until eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 28th of April, in the Chapel of the Oaks Mausoleum at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston.
The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, at the Chapel of the Oaks Mausoleum at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, where Dr. Wick Stuckey is to officiate.
In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the charity of one's choice.
