Gilda Mary Dungan

Gilda Mary Dungan, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 13, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on May 13, 1928, the youngest child of Matthew and Henrietta Mirault in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she grew up and later attended business college, before marrying, in June 1950, the handsome Merchant Marine Officer and love of her life, husband Earl Edwin Dungan. They moved to Houston, Texas in 1955, where as a team, they established a successful real estate recreational development business, and raised their three daughters, Cheryl, Lynne, and Nancy.

Gilda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl, of 62 years; parents Matthew and Henrietta Mirault; older brothers Bubba Mirault, Albert Mirault, and Louis Mirault; and sisters Dorothy Tucker and Natalie Porter.

She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Hough and son-in-law, Kevin Hough; Lynne Heddins and son-in-law, Victor Heddins; and Nancy Weitzel; and grandsons Kyle Weitzel, Brad Weitzel, and Matthew (Matt) Cummins.

Gilda was a sweet and beautiful person, dearly loved and treasured by her family and friends. She will be missed by us all.
