Gay Nell James

Gay was born on May 8th, 1943 in Houston, Texas. She grew up in Cottage Grove in the Houston Heights area with her Mother, Helen K. Simmons and father Mark Taylor Hearn. She had 5 wonderful and supporting siblings, Kenneth, Alice, Richard, Mike and Larry.

Growing up they enjoyed playing music. Guitars, drums and harmonicas were played throughout their house.

Gay is preceded in rest by, Eugene Doyle Sanders, Bower Joe Fisher and Larry Wayne James. She loved them with all her heart. Nothing in the world meant more to her than her family. Dancing and family gatherings brought her the most joy.

Gay is survived by her siblings; Kenneth Hearn, Richard Simmons, Mike Simmons, & Larry Simmons; her children, Gena Sanders, Cynthia Powers, Bower Fisher, Jonathan James; her grandchildren, Brittany, Kristin, Hannah, Kyle, Haley, Alyssa, Connor, Cheyenne, Caroline & Craig; and her great grandchildren, Emma & Charlie. She will be forever missed and always loved.
